Criminal Division

The criminal division hears cases in which a defendant has been charged with a criminal offense.  These cases include felony cases, in which the defendant may be punished by one year or more in prison, and misdemeanor cases, in which the defendant may be imprisoned for up to one year.  The judges in the criminal division also hear cases involving traffic, ordinance, and conservation violations.
