The Court Administration Office for the 22nd Judicial Circuit is located on the third floor of the
Michael J. Sullivan Judicial Center in Room 355.

James “Dan” Wallis has served as the court administrator since December 2008. He holds an undergraduate degree in business administration, a master’s degree in justice management, and is nationally certified as a court executive by the National Center for State Courts, and a Fellow of the Institute for Court Management. Additionally, he has served on many committees of the Illinois Supreme Court, Illinois Judicial Conference and is a past chair of the Trial Court Administrator Education Committee for the Illinois Judicial College.

Jill Gieseke serves as the deputy court administrator, a position that she has held since February 2021. Prior to that, she worked in the office of the circuit clerk for fifteen years. Jill has an undergraduate degree in business administration and is a certified court manager by the National Center for State Courts.

Organizationally, the Court Administration Office includes the Law Library and Self-Help Center, Jury Commission, Office of Special Projects (which oversees Drug, Mental Health, and DUI Court programs), Mandatory Arbitration, and the Department of Probation and Court Services. Nearly 100 dedicated employees work in these various offices.

Court Administration oversees and coordinates the critical administrative functions essential to the judiciary’s efficient operation. Additional responsibilities encompass administrative assistance to the judges of the 22nd Judicial Circuit, budget and fiscal oversight, human resources management, case flow coordination, jury management, technology, policy development and implementation, data analysis and reporting, and collaboration with various justice agencies and county departments.
