Chief Judge Michael J. Chmiel
The Chief Judge is the Chief Judicial Officer of the Circuit and is the liaison in all judicial administrative matters. He exercises administrative supervision over all courts within the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit. The Chief Judge may enter general orders and administrative orders in the exercise of the office’s general administrative authority, including but not limited to orders providing for the assignment of judges, general or specialized divisions, and times and places of holding court, as provided by applicable statutes, Supreme Court Rules, or Local Rules.
The Chief Judge works with Trial Court Administrator and Court Administration to carry out his duties and serve the citizenry of the circuit. This resource serves the Chief Judge in carrying out his administrative duties in order for the judicial circuit to best serve the citizenry of McHenry County.
